About the Founder

From Humble Beginnings to Cleaning Industry Coach

My name is Mr. Kung Her, and my journey started in 1999. At 18, fresh out of high school in Sacramento, CA, I landed my first job as an Admin Assistant and Office Manager at a foster care agency.

One ordinary day, our office carpets were cleaned — and that moment unexpectedly changed my life. Watching that transformation sparked something in me. I realized I wanted to build a career in the cleaning industry.

With little money and zero experience, I dove into research and launched my first business: DrySide Carpet Cleaning, specializing in dry carpet cleaning methods. At the time, I didn’t even know there were other ways to clean carpets. It started as a side hustle alongside my full-time office job.

Over time, I upgraded my equipment, expanded into portable carpet cleaning, and eventually landed janitorial contracts. I’ll never forget my first apartment cleaning bid — $75 for the entire job, including inside the stove and blinds. It took us six hours, and I had clearly underbid, but I was thrilled to have landed my first contract. I used that $75 to treat my brothers, who had helped me, to a well-earned dinner.

That small win became the foundation for everything that followed.

Overcoming Challenges, Building Experience

In 2011, life threw me a curveball. I was laid off — newly married, expecting my first child, and suddenly without my main source of income. My small carpet cleaning side hustle wasn’t enough to cover the bills, and the pressure was real.

But I’ve learned that every setback can be a setup for a comeback.

I walked into a major carpet cleaning company and was hired on the spot. That job became my training ground, where I mastered every part of the business — hands-on cleaning, customer service, sales, equipment troubleshooting, and creating efficient workflows. Within just one year, I was promoted to Sales Consultant for leading the company in sales and upselling.

By 2014, I took that experience and launched my own cleaning service. Still hungry to grow, I joined a nationally recognized janitorial brand to learn large-scale operations and expand my skills. That experience inspired me to open my own janitorial business, where I built and managed a team of 15 employees and contractors. Eventually, I trained my wife to run the company so I could keep pursuing new opportunities for growth.

I didn’t stop there. I kept sharpening my skills and ultimately became the General Manager for a nationwide cleaning and restoration corporation. Every step built on the last, equipping me with the knowledge, systems, and leadership experience I now share through my training and coaching.
